Jack and Alice - When You Were Young by Man-in-crowd-4 Jack and Alice - When You Were Young by Man-in-crowd-4
Can we climb this mountain? I don't know
Higher now than ever before, I
Know we can make it if we take this slow
Let's take it easy, easy now, watch it go!
We're burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane, that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes
And see the place where you used to live
When you were young

Some art I drew a while ago of Jack and Alice from my series Room 181. And honestly? I've whinged about a lot of my own drawings before now, but I'm so happy with this. As someone who once said that life is too short to shade things (quoted verbatim), I'm really happy with how it looks on here. I probably overkilled it on how dark the shading gets, but I'm still happy with the result. I'll try and do some more as and when the mood takes me.

Also, I like to match songs I know in my head with various characters I've created, so there'll quite likely be other posts with something like this in either the picture or the description. Not too many though, hopefully.

My characters belong to me.
Pokeumans belongs to Pokemonmanic3595.
Pokemon belongs to Game Freak.
When You Were Young is by The Killers.

The shading isn't overkill at all! If you feel it looks off, then try blending the two shades a bit, that might help. But it looks really cute, great job on it~

I might have a look around for how to do that, thanks. A lot of the comics and such that I read online only actually seem to use one layer of shading at all, except for scenes with particularly stark lighting. But still, thanks for the advice. And glad that it worked!

I' still trying to work with different shading methods myself, so not sure if I can help. But usually people just use normal colors and set it to multiply, them adjust the opacity. Airbrush is tricky to work with, except for maybe with dAMuro

Is DA Muro really much of a drawing package? I wasn't aware that it had many art-processing tools at all d the basics, but then I haven't looked very hard

It's mostly the basic stuff, and not as great as almost any other program, but habit has made it a bit easier for me to use it.
